Weekend tours

In 80 km from Bishkek there are remains of ancient city and in the very center of it there is a Burana Tower belonging to the 10 century. There was a flourishing city of the Great Silk Road - with the name Balasagun. The traders from China and some even from Rome were coming to that place to sell their good and spend a night. There is a Tower 24 meters high now. In old time it was 45 meters high but in the result of the earthquake happened in 15 century part of it fell down. This tower was used as a beacon for travelers and traders, as an observation tower and as a place to call local people to pray. After the earthquake in the 15 century people were scared to stay in the city because they believed that the god damned them and they should to left city as soon as possible. That is way there ran away in a hurry and did not take the majority of their things. Our archeologists found many artifacts there and you are able to see some of them in a local museum. The other part of artifacts was taken to Russian in Soviet time. The houses in the city were made of clay and they melt because of time. Now it is possible to see only the tower and a hill nearby that is considered to be leader's palace. Read the tour...
