Day 1: Dushanbe - Hissor - Dushanbe
Your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to capital city Dushanbe and start your tour in Tajikistan. Today your travelling will be full of cultural and historical sightseeing of the city. You will start from the architectural monuments like National library, White House, National State Seal, and House of Parliament and beautiful Rudake Park. Later you can walk to the largest National Flag of the world. The flag of Tajikistan reaches 165 m height, 30 m width and 60 m length. Before having lunch in the local restaurant, there will be detailed excursion in Central Museum. Afternoon, you will drive about 40minutes from the city to visit Hissor fortress, dating back to VII-XVII centuries. During medieval ages, this place used to host the representatives of Bukhara Emirate here. Nowadays it includes citadel and fortified are of remains. Originally, it was protected with high strong walls and even has many holes for guns and barrels. Its location on the hill means that it was good for protection from external attacks. Archeological researches found the facts about a pool, a big garden and a busy market square with a caravan sarai and shops. All these were in the boundaries of the fort. Nowadays only two towers next to the main gate has preserved. Other remarkable sites are "Madrasa I Kuhna" mosque dating back to 16th-17th centuries, the mausoleum of "Mahdumi Azam" from16th century. However, these monuments were reconstructed recently. Drive back to the city and rest in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
In the morning, we will start our tour to Kalai Khum village through Norak water reservoir, the largest in Tajikistan and known as a "Tajik Sea". Today you will travel to 2,267m at highest point, which is Shuraba Pass before the drive of Afghan border. Here it starts legendary Pamir Mountains; you will be charmed by the massive and simultaneously beautiful mountains. Even the world's most famous travelers like Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar were impressed by these majestic mountains. The River Pyanj defines the Tajik- Afghan border naturally. Most of the explorers associated Pamir Mountain with the ocean of blue and white mountains. In order to come closer to the local life you will stay at family homestay.
Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khorog
Today you will continue your tour to small town Khorog, which is surrounded by massive mountains of Tajikistan all around. Khorog is located on the crossroads of three river, where Shokhdara river and Ghund river join to Pyanj River which many travellers drive through during their tours. En route, you will meet Pamir people; physical and cultural characteristic of Pamiris differ from Tajik people. Most of the Pamir people are with light skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. Pamir is the second populated mountainous area after Himalayas in Tibet. Lifestyle of the Pamiris make them different from Tajik peoples. You will spend night in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog
Botanical Garden will be the first site on today's tour. Thanks to the big rivers nearby, the town surrounded by many of gardens. At the altitude of 2320m, on the east of the city, there is a well-kept Pamir Botanical Garden. In this lavish garden grows unusual plants from all over the world. The characteristic of the garden to acclimatize plants to the local climate conditions. Next, we will enjoy the city park and get lost in local handicraft shops, museum. Moreover, the liveliest local bazar offers many things to experience; friendly local farmers, bargaining of buyers and the smell of fresh buttery bread. You will definitely have many colorful photos of locals of Tajikistan. Night in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Khorog - Kalai Khum
In the morning, your tour will be to travel back to Kalai Khum on the same road. Because of the high rocky mountains, there is only one road goes through them. In addition to the glorious beauty of the Pamir, travelling to these areas offers to learn more about the development of history, culture and life style of the mountain habitants. Observing Pamir people gives an idea of how the history of the human beings advanced to the modern world. On the way, possible to take a break in a small village to meet local people and talk with them. You can see settlements on the both sides of the river, on the other side you will be able to see Afghan villages. Night in a homestay.
Day 6: Kalai Khum - Dushanbe
Today you will drive back to Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan, through mountain road. On this way among the silvery river valley and spectacular gorges, you will have many photo stops to capture the beauty of the landscape. En route it is possible to stop at the local villages and meet people to learn more about their lives. Tajik people are warm-hearted, hardworking and generous from the nature. Furthermore, hey are very faithful to their traditions and customs. Arrive to Dushanbe and spend a night in a hotel. End of tours.
Day 7: Flight
Today you will leave to home, transfer to the airport.
